Carter Petit Leads Charge to New School Record
Lake Holcombe waltzed into the Winter School gymnasium looking to spoil the Warriors plans of securing the Lakeland East Conference Championship. This would be the first conference title in 28 years for the Winter Warriors Boys Basketball team.
On January 16, 2024 the Winter Warriors Boys Basketball team scored 112 points in Lake Holcombe and set a school record. The record: most points in a regulation basketball game. Just 30 days later on February 16, the Warriors in their own house put up 116 points, beating the previous school record of 112 points.
Carter Petit led the charge with a career high, 38 points while adding 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals to his stat line. Malte Colliander added 24 points, 2 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals. Gunnar Greuel captured yet another double-double on the season with 18 points, 16 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 steals, and 7 blocked shots. CJ Thompson was also a major contributor with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals. Adam Bednorski had a monster game, but not in the scoring column with 13 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists and 2 steals. Logan Hautamaki came off the bench and nailed a 3 pointer while also adding 3 assists and 1 steal. Kingston Frey added 2 points and 3 rebounds.
The win propelled Winter into the lead in the Lakeland East Conference to secure the conference championship.
